Gene Dominique is an artist based in Atlanta, GA.
He earned a degree in photojournalism at San Jose State University and law degree from the UC Law San Francisco. After a three decade professional career, Gene returned to his life-long passion eight years ago: a full-time art practice centered in photography.
Gene's explorations in photography include a deep dive into a variety of genres from documentary, abstract and still-life to portraiture and travel. Gene's work includes the documentary series, Still Here – African American Farmers in the 21st Century, a study of the contemporary lives of Black farmers in the United States. Most recently Gene has been exploring studio portraits. This series began with a reinterpretation of the 1926 Man Ray photograph called Noire et Blanche. Gene has created Noire et Noire.
The Picture Book is Gene's first of several books Gene will publish in the next year.
