With an East Coast vision rooted in woodlands and along shorelines, I seek to communicate, as much as visually possible, experiences of connecting with natural systems and habitats.
From the Potomac River watershed and Maine Coast fog forests, to mountains, marshes and islands far and wide, my focus centers on woods and waters where elemental nature’s intricacy and intimacy go hand-in-hand.
Exploring interdependence among plant communities remains a passion, as nature is nothing if not rich in metaphor. Observing apparently intact places through long looking and slow seeing, I try to transmit a quality of attention that sustains viewers’ interest over time and kindles regard for life and place.
I am a printmaking photographer whose images have been reproduced at sizes up to 30 feet long.
