Über das Ebook
The Marquette Interchange Construction Project began in 2004 in various areas surrounding the core project. My photography of the project started in April of 2006 while there was still demolition activity going on, and continued through its completion in August, 2008.
The Marquette Interchange Project was complicated by the need to keep Milwaukee's downtown open for business and highways open to traffic. By 2008, forty years after it helped usher Milwaukee into the age of modern expressways, the old Marquette Interchange will be mostly, if not totally gone. The new Marquette Interchange is aimed at delivering a safer, more useable interchange.
By completion, the new Marquette Interchange will have gained national recognition in engineering and management practices - and finished three months ahead of schedule and under budget. With a lifespan of 75 years, the new interchange will be a permanent part of the Milwaukee cityscape - as an architectural element standing amongst other Milwaukee landmarks such as the Milwaukee County Courthouse, the Calatrava addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum, Discovery World, the new Harley-Davidson Museum and the Marquette University Campus.

Über den Autor
My photographic journeys lead to discoveries of subject matter enhanced by natural light and interest. In this sense, visual storytelling transcends typical graphics, by using photographic and video imagery that distinguishes subject matter through composition, color or lack of color, focus and interest. The resulting images not only document, but also to arouse a viewer's senses, emotion and intellect. Subject matter includes fine art landscape, waterscapes, street, and documentary photography. My primary cameras include a Sony a6000 DSLR; and a Nikon Coolpix P&S is used for convenience with expedition work. Images are primarily edited and enhanced in Photoshop Lightroom 5.7 and Macphun Luminar 2018. From time to time I will use an iPhone 8 Plus or iPad, typically when this suits me. These images may also be edited with iPad apps. Previous works were taken with a Canon 5D DSLR.
